Monograms!

There are a million and one things you can do with a monogram for your wedding. The hardest part is creating the monogram! I was lucky enough to have a monogram angel, Jill who created mine for me and they are awesome. Once I saw how great they turned out, the inspiration to use them just flowed. So i'm dedicating a post to all of the things I have used monograms for and plan to in the future.

-Thank You Cards - Created them through VistaPrint on folded notecards. They look fantastic.
-Save The Date Magnets - Jill has created a rectangle one for me that worked perfect for my STD magnets.

-STD brochure - I created a watermark on the newsletter as well as having it be our focal point on the front of the newsletter.

-Stickers - I created stickers (see post below) and used them to seal our STD's.

That is all the things I have used them for... Now for all the things I plan to use or could use them for...

-aisle runner

-more stickers to seal our invites/thank you's.

-t-shit/hat/tote bag logo

-tags for our favors/OOT bags
-Water/wine Bottle Labels

Really...the possibilities are endless! I'm always looking for new ideas, so feel free to send them my way.

Our Photographer!

We picked our photographer a few months ago, but I wanted to give her a shout out on my blog! Her work is amazing! She was really great to work with. I can't wait to see her pictures from our wedding :). If only it weren't soooo far away. Anyhow, her name is Kristin Starcher and her website is:

Definately check out her work. She is based in Chesapeake, VA, but obviously works in NC, VA and other areas as well!!!

How To Create Monogram Stickers

One of my brilliant ideas for our Save The Date's was to make a sticker using our monogram that was created by a fellow, fabulous Knottie Jill! I was beyond pleased with the results and will be using them as the seal for our Save The Date's.

Material's Needed:

Monogram in .jpg format
Photo Paper
Computer & Printer
2" Round Craft Punch
Xyron 2/5" Sticker Maker

The first step is opening word and inserting your monogram. I resized mine to just about 2". I then cut and pasted as many as I could fit on 1 page. As you will see in the picture below it was about 3 column's worth. Second, I printed them on glossy photo paper. I then allowed them to dry/set overnight to avoid any smudging or smearing. Using my 2 " Round craft punch I punched out all the monograms and then ran them through my Xryon machine and Poof! I have beautiful stickers of my monogram.

Scouting Trip to the OBX!

Eric and I spent 3 or so days on Hatteras checking out our locations. We were able to see the inside and outside of the church, meet with potential caterer's as well as check out the house we are renting for the week, which will also be the reception site and location for the welcome dinner. We had a great time and so did our dogs! I took a TON of pictures of everything so that I wouldn't forget any of it. Needless to say I'm in super wedding planning mode while it's all still fresh in my mind. Above are some random pictures from the trip.
