Flower Hair Clip DIY!

I bought a white rose and white peony at Michael's Crafts, cuts the stems as flat and as close as I could. I put some hot glue on the flower and then some on the little clips and pressed together and viola! Not bad for under $5.00 total! The clips aren't large but are pretty tight and hold in my hair really well. Overall, I'm really pleased with the outcome. I most likely will not be wearing one the day of the wedding, but maybe for another wedding related wedding event or two, I'll just have to wait and see what my personal stylist (Sean) has to say.
Next time flowers are on sale, I may pick up a few more to get some different colors and styles and see how they look. I've got a whole bag of clips left and an endless supply of hot glue.

Engagement Party!

Here is a picture of the cake at our engagement party. Kudos to my mom for going with Costco! Not only did she save some money, but the cake was DELICIOUS! I highly reccomend them to anyone for any party.
Our engagement party was a great day to catch up with a lot of our family that we hadn't seen in awhile and to get together with everyone. Everyone was really excited to hear more about our wedding plans. The save the dates were already out, so everyone was aware of our plans and it seemed like everyone was on board.
We are also grateful for the really wonderful gifts we got. I can't wait until our next wedding related event! And I definately think our wedding will be a ton of fun.

Surge's Last Fling...

One of my best friends is getting married in August and to celebrate her last days before getting married, a few of us gathered in Vermont, our old college stomping grounds and had us a little thing! I had a Knottie friend, Tracy, design us a monogram to use on our goodie bags and it came out awesome!! THANK YOU TRACY!!! I printed the monogram on full sheet stickers and then cut it to stick to the bag. If only I had thought of it sooner, I would have made some t-shirts.
The goodie bags contained all of he bride-to-be's favorite snacks and candy as well as a bottle of water and a personal packet of asprin. We also had some penis straws, chocolate penis pops, as well as fluff-filled chocolate penis's.
The day after the bachelorette shenanigan's was our other best friends baby shower! And it was great. Erin got a lot of wonderful things to welcome her little girl to the world and we had a great afternoon. We kept it semi-casual with light tea sandwhich's, pink lemonade, iced tea, cookies, and really awesome Ben & Jerry's ice cream cakes!
Now that things have quited down for a month or so until Surge's wedding and our big week of vacation in Scituate, MA to celebrate the wedding and relax, I'm getting back into wedding mode and will hopefully be working on some ideas.

The weather was was perfect, the food was amazing and the company was the best! We also got some really amazing and generous gifts!

I'm still working on thank you notes, but I am so excited to be using our Monogramed thank you notes! I hope everyone loves the as much as I do.

Next weekend I will be heading to the Green Mountain State of Vermont for a Babyshower/Bachelorette weekend! And no, they arn't for the same people! We've got some really cute things and fun things and um, don't tell your momma things planned for the weekend!
