Engagement Party Invites are DONE!

I finished the invitations to our engagement party last night. My parents were kind enough to off to have one, so I thought the least I could do is design and put together the invites. Thus assuring they go with out theme for the wedding as well. Below are pictures of the finished product. I think overall they turned out pretty good. Not the best, but still pretty good and they keep with the theme that will continue throughout everything up to and including the wedding. The invites were printed through Vista Print using their oversized postcard. I ordered the envelops through cardsandpockets.com and the labels are Avery. Up next...Save the Dates.

New Additions!

I'm lucky to have two new additions in my life! My brother and sister in law had their second child two weeks ago, Brady Thomas, who was 8.5 pounds and 21.5 inches. Above is a picture of me with him on the day he was born.
Below is a picture of Rosario John (RJ) who was born on Tuesday, February 10th, weight 8.5 pounds and was 19 inches to my best friend and her husband. Both are exceptionally beautiful and everyone is doing great. Even the two new big sisters that each brother has!

Oops!

I have a few oopsies!

1. I didn't even notice that I spelled my OWN name wrong on our engagement party invites. OOPS. But it's okay because I didn't have them printed on the right medium, so they are currently being reprinted.

2. My other major Oops is that I haven't posted a new blog. OOPS! I was out of town, under the weather and overwhelmed.

Update on letter painting project. I broke out the recipets for it, and it totalled 3.77! Talk about a budget DIY project. It's been a little time consuming and I still need to do one more coat of paint on the naked wood letters, but they look good and I'm pretty happy with the effort. I'll post final pics when I'm done, hopefully after this weekend.

On a wedding related front, I've ordered some samples from cardsandpockets.com for my possible DIY invite project. I will probably order the envelopes from them for the engagement party as well!

Engagement Party Invitations!

I used a template a fellow Knottie gave me (Thanks Tara & Elise). This is my mock-up. I'm having 10 printed with a linen finish by Vista Print for FREE. I'll send one to my mom to approve and then any changes that need to be made will be made and I'll have them printed. So far so good.

Painted Letters

I found these letters at a Goodwill in Florida while visiting my parents. They were .19 cents each and already painted white. Not sure if I will paint over them, do a design or keep them white.

I bought all the above supplies at Michaels. Paint was on sale 2 for $1.00. The brushes and letters I had 40% off coupons for. In total we are at about $5.00 total for this project for the paint, brushes, wood letters and white wood letters.

I started painting the naked wood ones last night. They will probably need several coats of the navy paint. Not sure what I will use them all for. My ideas are to hang them with ribbon from somewhere/something. Perhaps the church doors, or maybe the cake table or something like that. Stay tuned for pictures as the project progresses.

New Addition to the Family!

Meet Foley! We adopted him this past Monday night from a rescure group. He is about 10-12 months old. Foley is the chocolate pup on the right. Casey, the yellow pup on the left will be turning 12 YEARS old this summer. Eric has had her since she was two. So far the two are getting a long great. Foley is just a sweet little guy and we couldn't be more happy to have him as a part of our family.

Let the Wedding DIY Projects Begin!

I found these great Nantucket wine bottle baskests at Christmas Tree Shops. I thought they would be perfect to use as some decor on each table and to functionally hold wine bottles at ourWelcome dinner. We want to keep the decor simple, so this will be a nice little touch. I removed the Christmas ribbon and bells and put on some ribbon to match our wedding colors and will add and star fish or sand dollar to each. I only bought 4 of them, but in total, the project probably cost me about $20-25 and it will be a nice touch to the tables. I wish I had bought more!
