Mrs. Gill's Nuts!

No, the mother of one of my best friends isn't nuts, but this is her recipe for these awesome nuts.


l pound can of mixed nuts
1 Egg
1 1/2 tsp. water
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Mix 1 egg with 1 1/2 tsp. water then add the nuts-mix all together.
Then mix 1 cup suger with a 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon and add that to the nut mixture.
Spread mixture on parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. Take off paper immediately when cool and break into pieces.

It is just awesome. I'm definately considering using this in our OOT gift bags for the wedding!!!

Door Hanger

The idea for making a door hanger was not mine. It's true, I have zero origional thoughts in terms of my wedding planning, but I loved it. I created this in Vistaprint.com using their long invitation, and moving around the graphic, text bozes and changing the color and font to my liking. I punched a 2" hole in the top, cut a slip and viola. It looks great. I think it will be a nice little extra touch for those guests who are staying in the rental houses. And it will be a fun addition to our "OOT" gift bags. Using my VP coupon, they were 10 for FREE. Just had to pay shipping.

A Favor!

A co-worker asked me to create a little something something for her sister's upcoming 21st birthday. Her idea was to do a t-shirt or tank top for the girls who would be going out to celebrate. I asked her to give me some ideas and here is what I came up with. I think it turned out pretty good myself. The plan is to print the design on iron-on transfer and put them on pink tank tops! I can't wait to see the final product. Enjoy ladies!

The Paw House Inn

It's apparently a day for the dogs. FI and I were lucky enough to stumble on the most incredible place ever. The Paw House Inn!!! http://www.pawhouseinn.com/ They have two locations, both in VT, and it is the best place to go if you are a dog owner and want to vacation with your dog. Both Casey and Foley loved it and it solved a huge dilema for us! The staff are great, we were treated well, the place was clean and they even had biscuits for the dogs.

They operate on "No Dog Left Behind" as their motto. And it's true. The dogs are allowed to stay in the room with you, and allowed to be in the Inn, just not the dining room. When you leave and can't bring your dog with you, they allow you to bring your dog to their onsite kennel to stay while you are out, where they can even watch TV!

Homemade Dog Biscuits!

I've been working on a baking project that I'll post separately, but I thought the dogs felt left out. I searched for a really easy recipe that I would have the ingredients in the house and here is what I found:

Homemade Dog Treat Recipe Peanut Butter Puppy Poppers

2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 cup peanut butter (chunky or smooth)
1 cup milk

Preheat oven to 375'F. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk, then add to dry ingredients and mix well. Place dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness and use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Bake for 20 minutes on a greased baking sheet until lightly brown. Cool on a rack, then store in an airtight container. --- This is the original recipe, but I have found the cookies burn easily

I did them in drop form, and only had to cook them for maybe 15 minutes if that. Our dogs LOVED them. I also cut the recipe in half as that was all the WW flour I had and it was the perfect amount!

DIY Pashmina Saying

I saw this great idea when thumbing through a friends wedding pictures! My thought is to purchase about 10 or so pashmina's in blue and white, tie them with a bow and place them in a basket at our reception site with this sign. I'm just starting my DIY paper projects and wanted to start with something simple! I think it came out great. And there is finally a cohesive feel starting to run through my ideas and completed projects.
